given two rooms next to each other and with views - kudos to the hotel. the balcony while small did allow one to breathe some fresh air and admire views of townscape. room space was reasonable and there's no difficulty laying out luggage. reasonably clean throughout. bathroom was modern and renovated. shower pressure was great! underground parking was as advertised 15 bucks a night and could not be reserved. during the 3-night stay, there were still two or three spaces left when back at hotel each night. space was a bit tight so park carefully. ground floor lounge looked airy and appealing but we didnt have the chance to use it, and it;s closed at night.

Travelling

We spent 3 nights prior to a 2 week "Fun Tassie Tour" and then another 2 nights after the Tour. The Best Western is a 3-4 block walk from the CBD and our room was well appointed. and quiet. On our return we were upgraded and enjoyed a lounge room as well as a bedroom which was perfect as old friends dropped by for a chat. We dined there and thoroughly enjoyed the meal. The breakfasts also were excellent, with a very good selection of fruits, juices, cereals, yoghurts, breads, and Danish Pastries plus a selection of 8 hot dishes to choose from. Great breakfasts.!!

Good location, handy to the CBD. Room was basic, but did the job. Bed was comfy. Shower was good. Room was serviced frequently. The carpark is tight, some of the spaces are quite small and there are lots of concrete pillars. I was driving a medium-large SUV. I usually had to get my passengers to get out of the car before I parked because they would not have had the space to do so once I parked. We did not eat in the hotel restaurant. It seemed a bit pricey and had very limited options IMO. Lots of options nearby, two I would recommend is Picnic Cafe and Rod Thai.

We booked a 2 bedroom apartment at the last minute. We were in the Harrington Room on the 5th floor. Excellent room for people travelling together but wanting a bit of personal space and privacy. The apartment also had a mini kitchen and a dining/lounge space with a decent sized bathroom. Nice views of Mt Wellington. Location also great, just a couple of blocks off the main street but all in easy walking distance. Would not hesitate to stay here again.

Good location to access Franklin wharf and restaurants in the area and surrounding activities. Clean, comfortable beds and supplied bathroom amenities (soap/shampoo/conditioner dispenser), tea/coffee facilities and bar fridge. Recently refurbished bathroom was lovely! Onsite restaurant for breakfast/lunch/dinner although no Sunday dinner service when we stayed.
